FAQ’S
What is microblading?
Microblading is a cosmetic tattooing technique in which a hand tool is used to deposit pigment into the skin creating realistic, hair like strokes that give the effect of a fuller brow.
Microblading is expected to last 1-3 years depending on skin type and lifestyle factors. For more lasting results machine shading can be used during the microblading procedure to reinforce the brow. Machine shading in addition to a microblading service is a great option for clients with oily, combination or mature skin.
Am i a candidate for microblading?
* Prior to booking any permanent cosmetic service with Kako Beauty, a contraindication form will be signed off on to determine whether we can proceed with any of our services.
The best candidates for microblading are those who have normal to dry skin, minimal sun damage and great elasticity as these skin types will ensure that the hair strokes stay crisp and pigmented. Combination brows, a technique that combines both microblading and machine shading is recommended for those with oily, combination, or mature skin to aid in the longevity of that tattoo.
Does it HUrt?
Pain threshold varies with every client however with the use of topical anesthetics clients typically remain quite comfortable. Some clients fall asleep while others are a little more sensitive. Most clients are pleasantly surprised that the procedure was not as painful as they had anticipated.
How do you decide the shape/color?
Shape is customized to each clients anatomy using the golden ratio and string mapping method. Calipers are used from side to side to measure each angle of the brow from side to side and the result is then tweaked to appeal to each clients preferences. The design is then approved by the client before tattooing begins.
Color is chosen by taking skin tone, undertone, brow color, client preferences and color theory into consideration.
Do you work on previously tattooed eyebrows?
Working over pre-existing permanent cosmetics is typically not accepted but is decided on a case by case basis. Please send photos of previously tattooed eyebrows to kasey@kakobeautypmu.com to determine candidacy BEFORE booking.
How long does it last?
Microblading is expected to last 1-3 years but ultimately this depends on skin type and lifestyle factors. Some factors that contribute to fading are disregarding aftercare recommendations, oily skin types, exfoliating skincare ingredients and unprotected sun exposure.
